This reproduction Amputation Kit is new. The case measures 18" long x 6 1/2" deep and 4" high. Made of teak wood and lined with green felt. Consists of a top compartment, lift out tray and bottom compartment. Included is a brass plate for engraving that fits on the top of the lid.

Top Compartment:

Amputation/Capital Saw - 14” For cutting through larger bones during amputation procedure.

Small Amputation Saw – 11” For cutting through smaller bones.

Curved Scissors (Bandage Scissors) – 5 ½” For cutting tissue, also used for cutting bandage material.

Bone File – 6 ½” For removal of rough edges of bone after cutting by a saw. These rough spicules would hinder healing and caused infection.

Dissection Forceps – 4 ½” For grasping and holding tissue during operative procedures.

Director – 4 ½” To position scalpel blade.

Bullet Probe – 10”

Tourniquet, Brass Screw type

Tourniquet, Belt Buckle type

Trephine Brush/Bone Brush – 2 ¾” To brush debris away after a trephine or sawing procedure

Suture and Needles (light colored which would have been catgut)

Tenaculum – 6 ¾” For pulling out the arteries from the stump in order to tie them off. There are 3 different styles in the case
