This Civil War / pre Civil War reproduction Union Shell jacket will be new, made by Milk Creek Mercantile Co. It is a made to order jacket, size to be determined by the buyer. It is made of sky blue 20 oz. wool. It is trimmed in 3/8" wide yellow wool flat braid. There are 12 small union eagle buttons down the front (Waterbury), 2 on each cuff, 2 on each side of the collar, and 1 one each shoulder epaulette. It does not have the pillows on the back. It is unlined. Before the Civil War, this style of jacket was worn by both artillery and cavalry. The branch was indicated by the color of stripe on the pant leg.
